Appropriation on a sunday afternoon

I met the beautiful Miss Katie Melody Rogers when we entered into a mutual relationship of style stalking. Like me, you may have seen her around town dripping in meters of Miss Crabb silk, draped to perfection in a way that only Katie can - Trust me, I tried when we did a clothes swap and failed miserably.

After a photo of uncanny likeness appeared on Facebook, Katie with the help of photographer and friend Charlie Mckay, decided to re-create the image. I loved the final result so much I couldn't resist sharing it with you.

Finally, in my ode to Katie I have included a picture of her Miss Crabb leather lace up spats. Since my first glimpse of these at the Miss Crabb fashion show I have been in love. I am totally convinced these ARE the ultimate accessory. Not only are the spats buttery soft and the laces long and floppy, they also fit over all of your basic heels. Swoon.
If you too are in love, you can make these your own for $250, I would hurry though as they are in stock at Miss Crabb in Ponsonby now!

Disjointed conversation, paranoid beauties and disgruntled locals... a photo essay of nz fashion week by jo galvin

I managed to seduce the lovely Jo Galvin into letting me use a photo essay she compiled from the underbelly of Air New Zealand Fashion Week on behalf of Vice. I am so grateful that she let me post her work and am very excited to share these pictures with you.

P.S. A smart blogger would check their emails around this time of year rather than missing out on show tickets like I did!

I hope you enjoy the post, it beat doing a university essay x
